Threaded Twitter Status Updates

April 19, 2008

Worked on the mockup for the prototype a little more to day, but this will not be the final look and feel. Just needed something so the page wouldn't look so blah. So I'm using Twitter's CSS. Hope they don't mind ;-)

Check out what I've got done so far... remember nothing works.

Have you ever been looking at your time line and seen a Tweet (aka status update) where someone is replying to another Tweet? If you like me, you want to know what the orginal Tweet was about, however, Twitter doesn't make it easy.

You have to click the "in reply to ... " link and you're taken to a page with just that one Tweet on it. Thats fine if there is only one previous Tweet, but what if there is a whole chain of Tweets?! You click, and you clicke and you click and pretty soon you don't remember what the Tweet even said. Not only that, but now you have to hit you browsers back button a million times just to get back to where you were before you started reading the thread! UGH! There's got to be an easier way, right? I'm glad you asked...

For me this is the most irritating part of using Twitter... so for Tweets that are replies, I am creating a way to view the current reply Tweet and previous activity for the Tweet.

I will be posting a prototype soon, so check back here regularly.
